Boosteroid
How to set up Boosteroid
Boosteroid is the most browser-native cloud gaming experience. There's no client to install — sign up, link your storefronts, and you're streaming.
Steps
- 01
Create an account
Sign up at boosteroid.com. Pick a plan (Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly). Quarterly works out cheapest per month.
- 02
Open the supported game list
Boosteroid's library page shows what they're licensed to stream. Search for the game you actually want to play before subscribing.
- 03
Link your storefront
From inside a streaming session, sign into Steam, Epic, Ubisoft Connect, EA, Battle.net or Riot. Each storefront is one-time setup.
- 04
Set your max resolution
Boosteroid caps at 1080p/60 across all tiers — no 4K to chase. Default is 'auto' which is fine for most users.
- 05
Test latency
There's no built-in test, but a 30-second session of any fast game tells you immediately. Latency under 40ms is fine; 60ms+ is rough.
Common problems
Stream stutters on Chromebook
Check that hardware acceleration is on in Chrome. Boosteroid uses VP9; some older Chromebooks lack hardware decode and will struggle.
Steam asks for SteamGuard every session
Boosteroid's session is a fresh VM each time. Mark the device as trusted in Steam Mobile to avoid the prompt.
Game crashes when entering full-screen
Browser-native fullscreen sometimes conflicts with the game's renderer. Toggle to windowed inside the game first.
