How to set up Amazon Luna
Luna's setup is unusual because of its 'channels' model. You don't subscribe to Luna — you subscribe to channels (Luna+, Prime Gaming, Ubisoft+, etc.). Most people start with Prime Gaming because it's already included.
Steps
- 01
Open luna.amazon.com
Sign in with your Amazon account. If you have Prime, the Prime Gaming channel is unlocked already.
- 02
Pick channels
Subscribe to additional channels (Luna+, Ubisoft+, etc.) à la carte. Most users find Prime Gaming sufficient for casual play.
- 03
Pair a Luna controller (optional)
Luna has its own first-party controller that pairs directly to AWS, removing one network hop. Worth it if Wi-Fi-only and you play often. Otherwise any Bluetooth gamepad is fine.
- 04
Family share
Luna+ supports two simultaneous streams. Add a household member from your account settings.
- 05
On Fire TV
Install the Luna app from the Fire TV app store. Native Fire TV experience is the smoothest — controller pairs with the TV remote pairing process.
Common problems
Luna unavailable in my country
Luna is region-locked and not all countries are supported. VPN workarounds violate Amazon's TOS and lead to account bans — don't.
Prime Gaming catalog rotated my favourite game out
Prime Gaming titles rotate monthly. Subscribe to Luna+ to keep specific games, or check the next month's lineup announcement on Amazon's blog.
Streaming UI freezes on Fire TV
Luna's Fire TV app occasionally hangs after long sessions. Force-quit and relaunch. Older Fire TV Sticks (3rd gen and earlier) are no longer supported.
